      3.0.0 Release Notes - 26th April 2024

      FusionGraph product release notes

      Main Changes and New Features

      • The underlying tech -
        • Upgraded to Laravel version 10.X.
        • Migrated hosting platform to AWS from Krystal.
      • Security -
        • Updated plugins and libraries to mitigate potential security issues.
        • New Two Factor Authentication system that uses a third party authenticator app.
        • Automated logout timing due to inactivity.
      • Improved overall performance and stability of the application.
      • Complete overhaul of user roles, each user can now have a different role for each organisation they have access to.
      • Relationship Modifiers -
        • Relationship types between two layers can now be modified with a third or even fourth layer to further define connections. 
        • For example, the connection type “Applications -> Enable -> Business Processes” can be modified by “Geography” to show that some connections are only applicable in certain areas (e.g. UK).
        • Modifiers can be added via the right hand edit panel under the connections tab.
        • Dev comment - Filtering/increased visibility of Relationship Modifiers will be released in the 3.1 update.
      • Various bug fixes.
      • Small style changes throughout the app, fonts and some icons have been updated.

      Account Pages and a New Right Hand Navigation Menu

      • There has been a complete overhaul of all account pages
      • How to switch between your organisations is now handled on a new page (“My Organisations” page)
      • The account dropdown has been replaced with a right hand navigation menu. You can click on your initials to view your organisations, your profile or to logout.

      Dev Comment - The options in this menu depend on your access level, you may not see everything here.

      Updated Profile Page

      Updated Organisation Home Page

      New “My Organisations” page to change organisation.

      Dev Comment - When you first login you will be directed to the profile page where you must enter a new password and agree to the terms and conditions. Then you will have access to the application and be able to select an organisation from the “My Organisations” page.

      Main Application Areas

      Canvas:

      • Improved physics to make zooming in, zooming out and fit to screen smoother.
      • Updated icons and fonts on items and layers, layer name text now also changes colour to make it easier to read based on the layer’s colour.

      • New right hand edit tab with a search option on the connections and classifications tabs. For connection types, both layer name and connection name can be searched for (e.g. “Business Processes” or “Enable”).

      • Time Machine has been temporarily disabled as it is no longer compatible with the latest JQuery libraries. A new version of this will be reinstated in the near future.

      Matrix:

      • Overall performance of the matrix, including filtering, has been improved.
      • There is now a scrollbar on the right hand side for large matrices.
      • The matrix headers are now “frozen” so remain on screen when the matrix is scrolled.

      Dev Comment - The matrix is no longer upside down.

      Timeline:

      • Timeline view has been temporarily disabled, as the plugin we used is no longer secure. We are working on a brand new gantt chart view that will be released in 3.1.
