Filtering, Sorting & Resetting the Matrix

How to Filter and Sort your data in the Matrix

Load the data that you wish to display in the Matrix from the drop-down menu on the left hand side. Use the Properties button to include additional reference data and the cog button for Classifications to can be added to the Matrix too.

When you’ve populated the Matrix, you can filter and sort the data to display meaningful, relevant data by clicking on the cogs in the column headers. The options presented can differ based on the column, and you can remove columns from the Matrix view from this dropdown also.

Sorting the Matrix

Items within all columns can be sorted alphabetically, the first column also by its hierarchical structure, and classification columns can be sorted by a weighting if one has been assigned.

Filtering the Matrix

Matrix view filtering has been enhanced to provide more flexibility and it is now possible to filter matrix columns in the following way:

Hierarchy level - The reference (first) column can be filtered to only show items relating to selected hierarchy levels.

Check Box - For classifications columns, the list of possible values are presented to allow for the Matrix to be filtered based on specific column values.

Text Search - The column text search has the ability to search and display column data that either Includes or Does Not Include the entered text.

Blank values - Column data can be filtered to either hide or show items with blank values

Toggle Connection Names

There is the option to show or hide the relationship name for connected items (e.g. Supports, Used in...) using the toggle option from the header menu.

Resetting the Matrix

There are three to reset the Matrix. You can click the ‘Clear The Matrix View’ button from the Matrix Builder Menu, click the tick for the ‘Selected Layer’ added layer, or select ‘Reset Matrix’ from the first column’s header settings

You can click the tick on the left hand side for any appended layer to remove all columns relating to that layer. For example clicking the Business Processes tick will remove the Business Processes, Description and Business Criticality columns.
